Rich Dad Poor Dad

Review by Lynn Rogers This is where it all starts. If you've never picked up a book on money management and wealth building, this is the perfect place to begin. I had both of my boys read this book their senior year in high school over Spring Break. After you read it, sign up for our Cash Flow Game Night, and play out the concepts of the book with us. We limit these game nights to just a handful of clients, so click here to reserve your spot. |

The Money Thing Made Easy
– Howard Bono
Review by Lynn Rogers
Howard is a good friend of mine who has put the budgeting system we’ve taught our clients for years at our workshops into an easy to follow, written format. Step by step examples make it simple for readers to set up their own budgeting system. Howard also delves in to the different personalities around money: are you a Saver, or a Spender…and what that can mean if you’re married to the same, or the opposite. By the way, budgets aren’t boring, and either is this book!! |

Think and Grow Rich
- Napoleon Hill
Review by Lynn Rogers
If you liked The Secret, or A New Earth, then you should love this book!! When I read this book, I was blown away by how current it was - I could not believe it was published in 1937 at the end of The Great Depression. For over 20 years, Napoleon Hill studied the characteristics of people who had achieved enormous wealth during their lifetimes, and found many fascinating similarities. This is not an easy, quick read, but is well worth the effort! |

Real Estate Tax Secrets of the Rich
– Sandy Botkin
Review by Lynn Rogers
One of the big differences between the rich and middle class, is that wealthy people know how to use the tax code to their advantage. The average middle class American family pays Uncle Sam thousands of unnecessary dollars every year – dollars that they could be putting in compounding asset accounts. If you make a good living, but feel like you just can’t get ahead, this is the book for you! |

Fantastic! Easy to read, and it makes so much sense. Do you approach money the way poor, middle class, or rich people do? You might be surprised by some of your answers – I sure was! This is one of the most personally powerful books I have ever read. By the way, you’ll get a free copy of the book if you attend one of our Sensible Millionaire’s Club events.

Last Chance Millionaire
- Douglas Andrew
Review by Lynn Rogers
I came across Douglas Andrew’s first book, Missed Fortune, in 2004, and it revolutionized the conversation I have with our clients about home equity. Prudent management of home equity is critical in providing safety, liquidity and a rate of return on what for most people, is their biggest debt AND asset. The ramifications that so many people are experiencing today, in many cases have a direct correlation to not knowing how to manage that home equity. Last Chance Millionaire is an easy to read follow-up to the original. Very timely!
The Truth About Money
- Ric Edleman
Review by Lynn Rogers
A veritable encyclopedia of money information. More of a text than a read from start to finish. Tons of great information on the “new rules” of money – he coined the phrase! The old rules aren’t working; you can learn why by digging into this book. Easy to read, with lots of pictures; another plus for summer reading. |

The Millionaire Maker - Loral Langemeier
Review by Lynn Rogers
This is a fun book to read. Loral fills it with case studies of real people she’s worked with who, regardless of their debt, savings, and/or income, she put a plan together to free them from their 9 to 5 jobs. By answering 8 questions, Loral says she can do the same for anyone: “This book will take all the mystery out of wealth building. I believe that anyone can take a prescriptive, step-by-step approach to eliminate financial hardship and build wealth of a million dollars or more. And I don’t mean just net worth; I mean cash flow – cold, hard cash in your pocket. Those of you who know that cash flow is king understand that I am talking about something real. This book provides that prescription.” - Loral
Stop Sitting On Your Assets
- Marion Snow
Review by Lynn Rogers
This book is similar to The Last Chance Millionaire in that it recommends leveraging your home equity to help build wealth. Ms. Snow is a former mortgage loan underwriter who started to notice a pattern in the loan files of wealthy applicants – they consistently removed the equity in their property to put it somewhere where it could grow. |

Who Took My Money
– Robert Kiyosaki & Sharon Lechter
Review by Lynn Rogers
Uncle Sam, that’s who! And many traditional money managers! A great follow up to Rich Dad Poor Dad, taking you deeper into Kiyosaki’s concepts and strategies. Most of us tend to choose easy investments – meaning they are managed by others. Because of this, and because most of us don’t use the tax loopholes we’re allowed to use, we end up feeling like we are not getting ahead. How do we get off the gerbil wheel? Read the book for some answers!
Killing Sacred Cows
– Garrett Gunderson
Review by Lynn Rogers
A very important read! If you’re the type of person who questions common assumptions, and tries to stay away from the “lemming” mentality, then this book is a must for your summer reading list. 401(k)s encourage a gambling mindset; focusing heavily on net worth can trap you in scarcity and fear, the same as putting all of our energy on debt elimination can never set you free – these are just a few of the nonconventional concepts that Mr. Gunderson teaches. Fascinating, and potentially life-changing. |
